Soft Daily Wear Contact Lenses
Soft Daily Wear Contact Lenses
1. Surface Cleaner - requires rubbing the lens with clean fingers to remove surface deposits.
2. Disinfection - a crucial step, usually requires soaking the lenses overnight in a chemical such as hydrogen peroxide. This step prevents organisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi from growing.
3. Rinsing after disinfection - most chemical disinfectants like hydrogen peroxide hurt if they come in contact with the eye, therefore it is important to follow the manufacturer's instruction on soaking time and make sure you rinse your lenses well before insertion.
4. Enzymatic Cleaner - This is the best way to remove protein from soft contacts and is usually done once a week. The enzyme tablet is added to your nightly disinfecting solution. This step will greatly increase the longevity of your contacts.
5. Steps 1,2&3 should be done every night, step 4 added once a week.
6. The New all in one Multipurpose solutions cover all the above steps but it is very important that the rubbing step is not missed out.
